Rocker Emily?

Totally different feel from yesterdays portrait of Em. I wanted to play around and she was up for it - this is the result - well one of them. I have a few more "rocker chic" pics - but I think this is my favorite of the series.... although as a Mom - I prefer yesterdays. ;)

Emily - again.

I wanted to try out some new backdrop paper I got and our ice day was the perfect opportunity. I also wanted to get some practice with it because I had a session scheduled for this coming Saturday. That was cancelled today - really kinda bummed, but I am more concerned about my client. She had emergency surgery today. I really hope she recovers soon and then maybe we can rebook.

I took quite a few different shots of Em - and of course like any proud Mom - I will more than likely post a few of them. I gotta say I am proud of both of my girls - Kylie has seemed to capture my love for teaching and children. She is going to make one heck of an early childhood - grade4 teacher when she finishes school. And Em - not only is she one heck of a model, but has also captured my love for photography.

Add to that a husband whom does nothing but support and love me - and I am extremely blessed .

Another cold morning here - this time it is a freezing fog advisory. Stay warm and safe everyone.

Here is what this looks like unfrozen and at full bloom in the summer -http://jenniferd.smugmug.com/gallery/6993809_984Ua#335748963_sJykY-A-LB

Yesterday started with freezing rain and ended with sleet. Dallas is basically closed down today.

What a difference a day makes. Sunday was beautiful, yesterday - cold and drizzly - today ice storm warning. This weekend is forecasted to be in the high 50's low 60's.

I took this photo down by the lake here in town. The lake is an old cotton field that was flooded to make a reservor. It is very common here to see dead trees filling many local area lakes. The detail of this is better seen at a large size.

Dallas skyline.

We went to the zoo again yesterday - bought a year-long family membership. So.. you will probably be seeing a lot of zoo photos in the next year (warning you now).
JenniferD > January 25, 2009 This photo was taken in a neighboring towns park.

Feeling kinda antsy today - not sure why. Maybe I just really really need to get out of the house - I didn't even walk outside yesterday.

A sign of spring for everyone - my daffodils are beginning to poke through.
JenniferD > January 23, 2008 While this isn't a great picture I like it for personal reasons. The girl in the photo is my youngest Emily(EmilyD here on smugmug) -wearing her Dads coat since the wind coming off the lake was COLD. We were down by the lake the other day taking photos when I captured this shot of her aiming her XTi at some ducks.

JenniferD > January 20, 2009 - Emily

This is a heart stopping photo for just about any parent. ;) Emily got her drivers permit during Christmas break. This is her getting ready to drive to her friends house.

JenniferD > January 15, 2008 - A rose from the flowers the hubster sent me.

Also an update on what happened at Emilys high school on Monday. The suspicious package was NOT a fake. A 17 yr old boy had made a bomb filled with poisoned gas and was planning on setting it off remotely in the school commons (lunch area). He told his closest friend to NOT go to lunch that day. He also said if for some reason he was not able to set it off on Monday he would do it the next day. The bomb never made it out of the boys car - which was parked in the schools student lot.

Well his friend went directly to the school administration and let them know what was going on.

The boy has been arrested.

This kid worked at our local Wal-Mart - was VERY friendly. I just don't get it. I am also very thankful that his friend reported what he was planning.
