JenniferD > March 29, 2009 A follow-up to yesterdays photo. I had to laugh with this one. She simply would NOT look at me - until I said that one magic word - COOKIE! Suddenly I was her best friend. On a side note - Lily and her brother Eli are the most amazing dogs I have ever encountered. We adopted them from a rescue shelter nearly 7 years ago. They came from a litter of 4 who were left abandoned on the side of the road - in a plastic garbage bag. The lady who found them kept one and put the other three up for adoption. When we went to adopt Lily and Eli were being held in the same crate together - not sure if their other sister had been adopted at that point or not. One look at them and we knew - there were ours. They are both incredibly gentle, loving and submissive dogs. We have never once had any problems with them. I love both of them nearly as much as I love my children, but with Lily - there is a very special and unique bond with her that I have never felt with any other animal - ever. She is always there right beside me. If I leave a room and go into another - she follows. If I am sad or not feeling well - she seems to know. When I leave and then come home - she is at the door to greet me. She makes me smile, she makes me laugh, she heals my heart when it is hurting. There is no doubt in my mind that she was meant for me, and I was meant for her. We are - best buds. I love her very very very much.

JenniferD > March 23, 2009 Happy Monday! This is just one of the many flowering plants we planted on Saturday. It is supposed to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. We planted 2 blue and 2 yellow of this one.
JenniferD > March 22, 2009 - The fruits of our labor. We spent 5 hours yesterday pulling weeds, cleaning trash from the flower beds, planting 10+ new flowering bushes as well as 2 tomato plants and about 70 annuals from flats that we bought. Then we put down 15 bags of cedar mulch and cleaned up. The pool water was up to 74 degrees yesterday. Four more degrees and I am jumping in!

We are cleaning the backyard... all the flowerbeds and landscaping around the pool, making sure the chemicals in the pool and hot tub are right, replacing plants that died over the winter, planting flowers, pulling weeds, laying mulch. It's SPRING!

JenniferD > March 18, 2009 - "Wait up Mom, I have to change my battery!" Emily and I went to a local park and spent about 2 hours taking photos. We had a lot of fun together - until she decided to lay down on the sidewalk to get a shot of some flowers and then get covered with ants within seconds. She had unknowingly laid down over a crack that was an opening to an ant hill. Poor kid. We stopped and got some insect bite cream to put on them and she was OK. She sure can move fast though - when covered in ants. ;)
JenniferD > March 17, 2009 Happy St.Patricks Day This photo was taken last June at The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Anyone who knows anything about me and my family knows we are HUGE Walt Disney World fans. We go every June and have been for the past 12 years. We even own and operate an internet radio station MouseHouse Radio that plays nothing but Disney World Resort/Theme park music. Today is the first day I could call and make our dining reservations for our upcoming June trip. I have been on hold for 30 minutes and expect to be holding for quite a while yet. LOL Yes I am nuts! But most Disneyphiles like me are. So with that said - I thought this photo was perfect for today - even though it is not St. Patricks Day related.
