JenniferD > September 27, 2009 SHE MADE IT!!!! Proud Mom moment here. Yesterday Emily went to the call-back auditions for the Moscow Ballets Nutcracker. They were calling the girls back in twos to dance again in front of the Russian instructor. There were a few girls she had remembered enough that they did not have to audition again. Emily was one of them. She has a part dancing in The Coffee Dance (arabian). There will be 5 performances the weekend of November 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Majestic Theater in Dallas. I am so proud of her. She starts rehearsals next Saturday
JenniferD > September 26, 2009 A work session at the city/regional EOC (emergency operations center). Last night Ian and a few other guys from the emergency volunteer group we belong to went up to the EOC and installed cable under the floor for the RACES pc we donated last week.

JenniferD > September 22, 2009 - I played with "danger" yesterday to get this shot. I am extremely allergic to ragweed. Well I walked out into a field yesterday morning and mingled around ragweed plants taller than I am to get this shot. I was fine until I got back into the car. Then the sneezing started. Thankfully it wasn't anything like it was last year. Last year I was just taking Claritin and couldn't step outside at all without being 100% miserable. A few weeks ago my doc put me on Singular and it has been pretty awesome for my allergies. She also wants me to try Xyzal but I haven't yet. Anyone else have any experience with either one of these? Thanks for all the well wishes on the call back for Emily and her friends. I will keep everyone posted. Just keep those fingers crossed for this coming Saturday.
JenniferD > September 21, 2009 - Casey, Sydney and Emily This past weekend the Moscow Ballet held three seperate auditions for the Nutcracker. They will be here performing it in late November. Two auditions were held on Saturday. One yesterday. Emily and two of her friends/dance teammates auditioned yesterday. All three got call-back papers for next Saturday. I am so proud of all three girls. Please cross your fingers for them.
JenniferD > September 18, 2009 - total desperation shot today. It has been rainy and cool and basically just plain ole yuck here lately. Didn't get a daily up at all yesterday. This weather really bums me out. I don't want to, but I have a feeling I am going to have to resign myself to the fact that summer is over. :(

JenniferD > September 15, 2009 - FINALLY - after waiting all summer I was able to geta few frames on a hummingbird. The shots I got were not anything like what I wanted. Those lil critters are FAST! I also was taking them through a rain streaked storm door window. That left the entire photo looking cloudy. I played with them for a while and finally settled on this.

JenniferD > September 12, 2009 This is the last of the ones (that I like) of Emily I took last weekend. Just did the editing on it today. I still have more zoo photos to edit as well. I really need to get busy. Thanks so much for all the kind comments about my wine glass photo from yesterday. I was truly overwhelmed by the response it got - kind of a last minute shot. For those who asked - the lighting was nothing more than ambient light from the kitchen and a small flashlight I had Ian hold directly over the glass. The background is a gold colored cloth textured napkin. The bottom is the same type of napkin only a burgandy color.
